Currently we have no process for backing out changes that we make though BAR file deployments. Currently the developers just correcting and re-deploying. I know that this is not a good scenerio for a lot of reasons. I am wondering what / if are the best practices for managing bar file deployments are?

1.) Is there no way to backup the currently deployed apps on a broker or in an execution group?
2.) Create a new execution group for each bar deploy and stop the previous application on the broker?
3.) Keep the old BAR files and then just load the old BAR file if the new one fails. (Problem if we do not have an older Bar file.)
4.) ?? Any Suggestions ??

Just a quick background. I interited our MQ Series Environment. I am managing to solve a few issues with Intro MQ course that I took 2 years
ago. I will be getting courses in the near future.

There is no way to back out a BAR file.

There is no way to reconstruct a BAR file from deployment.

If you need point-in-time recovery of your runtime deployment, you *must* keep an archive of either all of the deployed artifacts under source control, an archive of all your bar files, or even better *both*.

Don't create new EGs for new code, unless you need both copies running simultaneously. And in that case, be prepared to do things to ensure that you know what version of the code is reading from what input location (URL, queue, file directory, etc. etc. etc.) otherwise you will find what appears to be 'random' assignment of input to each version of the flow.
