Hi MQ Net,

can someone give some light on the following.

I've two machines, one development and another production. In my first WMQSI project I did an export from dev machine and import it on the prod machine. Everything ok.

Now I have in the dev machine more flows and messages (in the same message set). How do I move it to production ?

1. delete the current production message set and import the last one ?
2. using e finlize option and import the new message set version ? how that works ? how many levels can I have ?
3. can I export only messages from the dev machine and import them on the prod machine ?

Thanks

Joao

Joao,

1. Yes.

2. Use command mqsiimpexpmsgset to export message set from dev machine. On production machine, run the same command to import message set. Its state after import will be frozen. Now Finalize the message set so that no one can change this messageset on production machine. "Level" comes into picture when you are creating a message set based on another message set. It is like versioning MessageSets. I don't think there is any limit on level numbers.

3. No, you can import/export message sets only.

once more Thanks Kiran !

I've never used levels and message sets. But can I have two (or more) levels for the same message set, and choose the one I want to deploy/work ? Are the message objects from one message set level independent from the object from the same message set, but diferent level ?

hi,
Just to remind u, IC01 support pack allows separating message flow information from an exported file which can later be imported....

It´s also possible to export and import message flows. But it is necessary to delete the message flow from prod environment before importing the message flow.

Cheers,
