Hi Guys,

I'm hoping someone can help me here.
I am running Biztalk (3.6.1404.0) on a Win2003 Server connecting via MQ client to a Unix Server running MQ Server 5.3.

In VisionSWIFT i have set up the MQ connection but i keep getting username and password errors in the event log. Being it a unix server i am connecting to..there is no domain.

What am i doing wrong to get these username and password unknown errors?

Do you have an mcauser set on the channel biztalk is using?

I have a mcauser called 'mqm' on the SYSTEM.AUTO.SRVCONN channel.
Where can i set this on the Biztalk application?

I also log in as mqm on the MQ Unix server - MQ runs as the mqm account.

This is the equivalent of leaving the Crown Jewels on open display, and every door and window open - don't do it! Define an application-specific SVRCONN channel, a separate application-related group and user, set the required auths specific to the application, and put that user in the MCAUSER attribute.

I don't know BizTalk, but if it's just using MQ as a transport I can't see why it would want to pass a userid and password.

BizTalk on the client side needs to talk to a BizTalk MQSAgent running on the MQ server side, and that MQ server needs to be a Windows server with the Windows BizTalk MQSAgent installed.

Unless you are doing a plain MQ Client connection (nothing specific to BizTalk), in which case there is no concept of password in base MQ. Show us the connection parameters your client is setting to aim at the MQ server.
