I am sure this is a simple question but for one reason I cannot find the answer(Perhaps I did a 'man' look?)
...../manuals/intercommunication/csqzae060e.htm
With regard to the above document, could someone confirm that I can use say MQ V7 and communicate with a MQ6 or MQ5 Distributed Queue (Remote queue)
Thanks in advance!

Yes.
Bear in mind that Version 5 is out of support (excluding HP Non-Stop Server), and that if clustering is being used, lower versions will not recognise newer attributes of channels, and therefore you may get 'anomalous' results. _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |

Thanks for the info on clustering. Early stages at the moment but two clients wish to talk between each other using WMQ. At present I know one will be using MQ V6 (Perhaps moving up to MQ V7 next year) but it's the other side I don't know yet and wanted to pre-empt any issues I may have.
Thanks

If you can link it with a channel, it'll work. WMQ V7.0 has a number of enhancements, not least in the Client/Server channel department, that will be ignored by lower-version installations. The site I am on at the moment has three versions running, V5.3, V6.0, and V7.0 (and V5.3.1 for HP Non-Stop Server) all quite happily communicating with each other. _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |

That's the thing I wanted to hear! Real life examples rather than the documentation stating it SHOULD work - but thanks to all who replied!
Many thanks
