I have used jmsadmin in one of my past job. For last a few years, I have no been asked to do that.

do we still need( does it require) to run this in MQ 6.0 ? do we need this when a jms app want to send /receive message from MQ ? is this true that the jmsadmin converts or establishes a link between mq queue and jms queue( jndi)?

Also, what happens when there is WAS listener? is it that the listener port acts between mq queue and jndi so that receiving application receive message from connecting to the was and picking message from the jndi queue?

When I use the jmsadmingui to create the jmscontext, I got the following errors:

Message is: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.ibm.mq.jms.context.WMQInitialContextFactory

the jsm confi file contains:
INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY=com.ibm.mq.jms.context.WMQInitialContextFactory
PROVIDER_URL=localhost:1414/SYSTEM.DEF.SVRCONN

I am always confused about this.

Start with the file based JNDI and work your way up to what you need!
