Hi All,
I am new to MQSI, and working on Windows NT. I am using control center to create message flows and message sets. Can any one give me suggestion on ,How to create these objects in Solaris?
Thanks in Advance

Eswar,
When you create these objects (MsgFlow and MsgSet) using Control Center, they are stored into Configuration and MRM repository. Configuration manager is only available on Windows Platform. I am guessing your broker is located on your Solaris. After creating these objects, you deploy them to the broker on Solaris, which is your runtime configuration. _________________ Kiran

Kiran,
Thanks for the valuable information.
Can u clarify on the following.
1) Can't we create message flows and message sets with out control center?
2) Suppose, i have MQSI(broker + user manager) on my solaris machine and don't have any NT machine. Is it possible???? if yes,Then how to create message flows and sets.
Thanks in Advance

No, you cannot. Control Center can be only installed on Windows NT machine.

No, MQSI Configuration Manager can be only installed and configured on Windows NT/2000 machine. You can not use your broker & UNS on Solaris without a Configuration Manager. _________________ Kiran

I think so that was a very bad idea from IBM because all MQSI environment need an own NT/2K... of course, if you need a correct separation.
It seems simple (firstly), but all of us have to install a DB2, MQ and need a sysadmin, database & mq admin, too. For example, until we started with MQSI, I had never seen DB2...
So I hate this solution.

Tibor,
I agree with what you are saying. I heard that Config Mgr is using some Windows Specific code, which IBM is not able to port to other platform.

depends..how your environment is setup. If you have an administrator who is taking care of MQ/DB2/MQSI admin .. then MQSI developer doesn't need to have any sysadmin skills _________________ Kiran
