Hi All,

I'm trying to install WMB V6.1 in " Windows Vista Home Premium (SP1)" using mqsilaunchpad.

As soon as I click the mqsilaunchpad, an alert shows "Your operating system is currently un supporeted.Continuing WMB V6.1 is not recommeneded."

Even though I tried to install start with MQ6.0, the installing is getting rolled back after the message displayed "setup could not create a local mqm group(code5),(AMQ4389) (AMQ4739)"

Could you please help for any support packs available for installation?

Have you checked the IBM site for a list of supported O/S's ?

I don't use Vista but WBM won't install on XP Home but will on XP Pro. PErhaps it is the same with Vista?

MQ 7.0 will support Windows Vista Family. As my knowledge MB will not support Windows Vista.

I found in the WMB_Installation_Guide, It supports for
Microsoft Windows Vista Business Edition (with service level SP1), Microsoft Windows Vista Enterprise Edition (with service level SP1), Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate Edition (with service level SP1).

But not sure whether any fix packs developed recently for Vista Home Premium.

Can anybody help me please to make sure about Installation?

It's unlikely IBM will develop fix packs for unsupported platforms.

The installer will not work on unsupported platforms.

Many Thanks Vitor and others.
I realized that Vista Home Premium does not suit to install WMB V6.1.

Hmmmmmm. This may only apply to Windows platforms. The installer does work in Fedora 11 which is obviously an unsupported platform. Perhaps IBM think that anyone silly enought to try to install the toolkit on an unsupported linux distro knows what they are doing is unsupported.

Or that it's more likely to work on an unsupported linux distro that a supported Windoze version......

Which version of Vista? If it's not one of the supported ones, can you post your method for the benefit of the original poster?

my version of Vista is the same as that of mvsivaiah.
I do not quite remember if I had to do anything special for that.

however you could try right-clicking the mqsilaunchpad.exe , select the compatability tab and check the "run this program in compatability mode for:" check box and select "Windows XP (Service Pack 2)" from the drop down, selecting apply and then launching it again.

But whenever you get a weird error you wont be sure if its cus you fudged the install to make it work or if its a genuine issue. And of course.... IBM may not help too much in these instances.

I'd really recommend using supported OS's rather than trying to hack the install process.
