Is it possible to append an existing file using the fileoutput node.
I am able to write a new file for every input message, but would like to know whether we can append same file for all input messages.

You can add (append) records to a non-finalised file. When you are ready your logic can send the fileoutput node the finish signal to finalise it.

You can't use FTP append when sending the finalised file to a remote system. I have submitted an enhancement request to IBM for this.
