Per the documentation I understand MQ does not allow segmentation in Mainframe( OS/390). If so how do they handle large messages. I am not sure of the mainframe world. We receive messages from Mainframe on to Unix environment and got the question how it is handled. |

For current MQ versions message size limit is 100MB. For me, this is quite large and also large enough.
If this is not large enough for you and you are using z/OS, then you must code your own segmentation logic in the application, e.g. by splitting messages > 100mb into muiltiple parts < 100mb at the sender end. and you need a similiar logic at the receiving end to make it a single big message again. _________________ Regards, Butcher |

Thanks.
So do u use Message Groups? If not how do you ensure the order of the message segments. I belive MQ assures delivery but not the order. |

Message Groups are supported in WMQ for z/OS v7. Order of delivery is achieved at the application-level by specifying MQGMO_LOGICAL_ORDER. _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.
