I have configured an InputFile node to retreive files from an remote FTP, I have configured a service with mqsicreateconfigurableservice command, specifying the correct values for the attributes connectionType and securityIdentity (User/Password are correct). But I get the error:

"...could not connect to remote FTP server 'xxx.xx.xx.xxx'. Reason 'timeout(5000): connect timed out.

Whenever I try to connect to a FTP in the local network I have no problems and I am able to retreive the files successfully. To what other details should I be paying attention to??

How remote is remote? Are there firewalls in between?

Make sure you can manually FTP to the remote host from the wmb host before trying to make a flow work.

I am located in El Salvador, Central America. The FTP is in Spain. It´s pretty far. I tried to FTP the remote host from the wmb host and got a Connection timed out. You are right, there is a communication problem between the broker server and the remote server, tough I can connect the remote FTP from windows explorer.
