Hi,
Am trying to collect the SMF related information and statistics for MQ.
So i added the SMF record types for MQ in the SFMPRMXX member in parmlib and dynamically activated it.
Also, i changed the accounting and statistical parameter in the zparm member of the start proc and compile, linked it.
Then i brought down the subsystem once and then started it with the new zparm load module.
Then i went to the Queue manager and gave the trace command to activate the trace on.
Even though i get a message Trace command successful, i get the following in JESMSGLOG of MQ start up job and the system log
CSQW133E +MR11 CSQWVSMF - TRACE DATA LOST, SMF NOT ACCESSIBLE RC=24, where MR11 is the subsystem name
Can anyone help me out with this issue ?
Thanx.. |

I'm not a Mainframer, though I do dabble occasionally, though I like to think I'm a good Googler... _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |

Hi,
I got my problem solved. now the information about MQ record types 115 and 116 are being writtten in SMF.
Also i took a dump of the content written in the SMF for the record types in a VBA format, later which i changed to VB format through SMFSLCT utility.
Now, i need to generate a report from the generated VB format through a progam to view it in a understandable format.
Just curious to know, is there any program(any language) available to extract it ?
How about the MQ support pac MP1B ? Does it solve my problem ?
Thanks !! |

Hi,
It'll be a lot simpler if you have SAS or more to the point MXG.
Have you got anything like those two?
