Hi All,

I know that the embeded derby database can be used as broker database for test/evaluation purpose. But I never tried this. Always used an external database. Today for some reason I wanted to try this out.

It is mandatory to give the DSN name while creating the broker (-n parameter in mqsicreatebroker). And I am puzzled over what should we give for thsi parameter when we use the embeded derby databse.

Please

Are you using a new copy of Windows? It says here that:

The Derby database is not supported on Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008.

Aside from that,

Don't be - it's the same as you'd give for any other. The same link says:

Quote:
you can use the Derby database that is embedded in the broker component with the ODBC drivers from DB2 Runtime Client V8.2 that are included on the product media.

Simples (to quote an unexpectedly famous animal)
