Hi All,
I know that the embeded derby database can be used as broker database for test/evaluation purpose. But I never tried this. Always used an external database. Today for some reason I wanted to try this out.
It is mandatory to give the DSN name while creating the broker (-n parameter in mqsicreatebroker). And I am puzzled over what should we give for thsi parameter when we use the embeded derby databse.

Are you using a new copy of Windows? It says here that:

The Derby database is not supported on Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008. |
Aside from that,

Don't be - it's the same as you'd give for any other. The same link says:

you can use the Derby database that is embedded in the broker component with the ODBC drivers from DB2 Runtime Client V8.2 that are included on the product media. |

We've all done it, and often for the same or similar reasons.... _________________ Honesty is the best policy.
