Anybody have any experience using the WTX node on the message broker. We are planning to use WTX 8.2 and WMB 6.1 on AIX, I am trying to understand what are the implications of using the WTX node in terms of performance.

Thanks
Srikanth

The implications for performance are larger for larger messages, and smaller for smaller messages.

I am currently on a project that is heavily using WTX nodes. I am a WMB dev and not a WTX developer however so I can only speak from the WMB perspective.

From our experiences we have seen that it can depend on whether or not your maps use any temporary storage (not sure what the WTX term actually is) and if that temp storage is in memory or uses files.

Using memory for the temp storage is faster but depending on how many maps you have in an execution group and how much temp storage is needed at one time you can run out of memory and have your execution group restart. We are currently in the process of going through our flows to see which flows/maps we can switch to using files and which ones need to remain in memory.

So basically, using memory for WTX temp storage is faster than using files but could cause a memory issue.

I've added my WTX maps in the message flow. I have attached the screenshot in the attachment. Let me explain what I have done.
I have created the maps in the Windows environment. Our deployment environment is UNIX.
Initially I have created the maps, then built it specifically for UNIX, then renamed the aix file to mmc, then deployed those mmc files to UNIX.

The map is supposed to read the input file from a directory and do some processing, so I have created the Input File Node and created a connection from the directory to the input map in the message flow and then I deployed the components to UNIX box.
When I drop a file in the input folder, the file disappers since I'm deleting the file upon reading it, but the WTX maps doesn't seem to trigger.
Please let me know if I'm doing anything incorrectly.
Thanks for the help.
