I really don't understand this:
I have an MQ client on winxp and MQ v6 server on Windows. No direct access to the server but doesn't really matter for now.
amqsputc fails with a 2035, which I expect since my userid is not registered on the server. However, MQIVP is working fine. How can this be?? I am using the same port, channel, qmgr, queue.
I know how to fix the 2035 but I don't understand how MQIVP can be connecting successfully.
Any ideas? |

Hi,
MQIVP is a Java application and it did not set a UserId (and the MQ Client code does not a UserId). Hence MQIVP, like many Java applications, is exploiting a security hole in MQ.

OK, so the difference between amqsputc and MQIVP is that one is java and the other native? Very strange. Lucky for me I guess since my client is java. |

Or perhaps it's a security hole in Java that is not being worked around in MQ. |
