I am running MQ V7, trying to do some PCF queries using com.ibm.mq.pcf-6.1.jar, PCFParameter.class, getParameterName(). In the previous version of com.ibm.mq.pcf.jar things work fine, getParameterName() is public. In the 6.1 version getParameterName() is protected. Does anyone know why this would be?
I am using the com.ibm.mq.pcf-6.1.jar found in supportPac MS0B: WebSphere MQ Java classes for PCF, last modified 12/3/08. Thanks. |

Hi,
Why don't you email the author of the SupportPac and ask him?

If you are using MQ7, why are you using MS0B? There are supported PCF classes in MQ7. |

The date on the V7 com.ibm.mq.pcf I have is June 10, 2008, the date on com.ibm.mq.pcf-6.1 is Dec 3 2008, I thought the newer version from MS0B would be the most current. Let me know if I am mistaken in this. The SupportPac page does say it supports V7.
Also, MS0B does say it adds new support for activity report and trace route messages which I hope to use in the future.

On the SupportPac page it states: "You may submit a question using the 'rate this page' below but a response is not guaranteed.". I did submit a question that way, but have not heard back yet. If I don't hear anything soon I will try emailing Chris Markes directly. |

Did you include your email address in the note or on the page? It may not have come through to Chris for him to be able to respond... |

I'm pretty sure I did, and it was just yesterday and I'm not sure checking these messages on a late spring Friday would be anybody's priority , so I'll check in again after the weekend. If anybody has his email ID and would PM it to me I would appreciate it, or I could PM someone with mine. Thanks. |

You are mistaken. The product code has branched from MS0B, in order for it to be supported. The only updates to the product code are delivered through the normal fixpack mechanisms. |

OK, good to know, thanks. I thought MS0B was just enhanced versions of the current production code, then moving the useful parts into the product as warranted. |
