Hi guys,

we are currently running MQ ver 5.3 with Msg Broker 6.0 on AIX . The client want to upgrade MQ to ver 7 and Msg Broker to ver 6.1. May you please advice what problems can be expected during this exercise, what is the best approach?

Nothing that you wouldn't anticipate from a significant piece of upgrade work like this. There's certainly no incompatibility with the products.

To upgrade WMQv5.3 -> v7.0 follow the approach detailed in the Migration manual. To upgrade WMBv6.0 -> v6.1 follow the approach given in the documentation section "Migrating from version 6.0".

If you check the spec's, DB2 8.2 is still supported with WMB 6.1 "for production purposes".

But you should consider updating your DB2.
