I cant seem to get the Xpath statement to evaluate a > ' ' or a != ' ' of a field. Does this work in Xpath??

Equality operators ('=', '!=') work for strings. Relational operators ('<', '<=', '>', '>=') do not work for strings.

Refer to the XPath 1.0 specification for more details, particularly the sections concerning boolean expressions and string functions.
