Define "excessive".
If you've set trigger to every (common in CICS) and not got the transaction throttled then it's behaving as expected. If the throttling is failing, it's a CICS problem. If the throttling is working but there are more transactions than you want, change the trigger type or throttle back. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

use the "reset qstats" command on your initqueue to get the number of trigger messages since the last "reset qstats" command (check the command manual first) _________________ Regards, Butcher |

assuming you have a monitoring package, you can monitor the InitQ and set these to alert on
Upper queue depth . . . : D E=Enabled, D=Disabled
Threshold . . . . . . . : 80 0 - 100 %
Lower queue depth . . . : D E=Enabled, D=Disabled
Threshold . . . . . . . : 40 0 - 100 %
Service interval . . . . : N H=High, O=OK, N=None
Interval . . . . . . . . : 999999999 0 - 999999999 milliseconds |

you will not get any alerts if the trigger monitor is fast enough to process the trigger messages. you may have excessive triggering anyway. _________________ Regards, Butcher |
