Hi all,

A client of ours needs an automated script to correlate queues within a queue manager, and a name of the client accessing these queues.

One of the ways to know which client accesses which queues, is to correlate user id, or ip address.

However:
A) User ID is only supplied if MCA is used, or when we're talking about a client connection, only if Java isn't used (because some clients use "" as username)
B) I cannot think of a way to back-capture (meaning, non real-time) all the MQOPEN attempts. I thought of Qmgr Events, but those are only in the event of a failure. MQTrace is not sufficient.

So - any other solution? Thoughts? Ideas?

Thanks.

look at api exit solutions or start implementing WMQ V7.1 and use application activity records

SupportPac MA0Z can be used on SVRCONN channels to log Client MQI calls, including MQOPEN.
