Hi All,

I rebooted my windows XP server2003 and after that whenever I try to start MQ explorer from the "Start" menu, it shows that MQ explorer is initializing itself and i get the Screen which comes when MQ explorer is starting then It just go off without displaying any errors-
version of mQ is - V6.0.2.0

This is quite a strange problem , I have never encountered it before. Anybody have any idea what this is all about ?

Regards
Rahul(R)

Start it from the command prompt and observe any errors.

still the same. Actually in both the cases I am able to see MQ Explorer tabs on the bottom of windows task bar but when I click on it , it doesnt show the GUI.

ANother problem is if I start my queue manager from the command prompt and log off from the system then the queue manager stopped automatically (that shouldn't happen ?)

I think the qmgr will not be shutdown after you logoff if you use "amqmdain qmgr start <qmgr_name>" to start the qmgr..

I am using MQ explorer to start the queue manager (which is equivalent to using "amqmdain" command). Still once I log off, I found the queue manager status as "Ended unexpectedly" whereas the IBM MQ series windows service show as running.

Strange thing is I have marked the Startup as "Automatic".

yes. I am using the alternate method to start MQ explorer.

Open the Eclipse and switch to MQ perspective and it is working.

But the big problem is once I log off, then the queue manager went down immediately.

you have to use amqmdain to start queue manager on windows which can survive user logs off...

Starting a queue manager service with amqmdain is not the same as using strmqm from the command line, because the WebSphere MQ service executes in a non-interactive session, running under a different user account.

thanks Akansha!

The problem got resolved, i was running Queue managers in the Interactive-session, that's why they were getting shutdown while logging off.

I changed the Identity in DCOM config for MQ services from Interactive to local user and now its working fine.

Thanks to all once again.

Cheers!
