Hi
I have an open position for WMQ/WMB Development Lead. As a first step please call me on 919 483 3885.
The primary purpose of this role is to provide core development skills in integration technologies, delivering solutions meeting GSK application and process integration requirements.
Basic Qualifications:
• 5 years minimum hands on experience in developing enterprise level complex messaging solutions for Windows and UNIX platforms spanning integration with both internal and external systems.
• 5 years minimum hands on WMQ implementation experience including hands on development with WMQ API (ideally IBM certified). Experience must include working with WMQ in clustered environments and WMQ Client environments.
• 5 years hands on experience working with a variety of integration adapters (ideally custom and Vendor supplied adapters).
• 3 years hands on WMB administration and development experience (ideally IBM certified).
• 3 years Java design and development experience (ideally Sun certified)
• Desirable development skills to have include C/C++, WebSphere Application Server, .NET, WebSphere Process Server, BPEL, AS/400, Z/OS
• 3 years hands on experience developing and implementing solutions utilising XML and associated technologies (e.g. XSL, XSD, etc).
• 3 years hands on experience developing solutions utilising Enterprise databases such as Oracle.
• In depth knowledge of messaging concepts, techniques and patterns, with a focus on Hub and Spoke based architectures.
• In depth knowledge of structured application design, programming & testing principles.
• A strong background in formal software application design and development, with a focus on Middleware.
• Excellent communication and facilitating skills are essential.
• Excellent leadership and teamwork skills
• Excellent communication skills – written & presentational. Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences.
• Good understanding of GSK business unit activities
• Understanding of key business and IT trends which may influence future strategies
• Desirable to have understanding and practical experience of web technologies
Key Responsibilities of the role include:
• Architect/Design/Develop/Test/Implement core enterprise level application integration technical solutions primarily focused on the messaging components of the GSK Enterprise Service Bus (ESB). These components include but are not limited to, WebSphere MQ (WMQ) and WebSphere Message Broker (WMB).
• Architect/Design/Develop/Test/Implement enterprise level adapter integration technical solutions primarily focused on adapters that function alongside the core messaging components of the GSK ESB.
• Continuously evolve and enhance the integration and messaging solutions processes, standards and patterns offered by the Middleware Service team focusing on the messaging domain.
• Support the functional testing of new versions of components offered by the Middleware Service team with a focus on the messaging domain.
• Provide 4th line support on components offered by the Middleware Service team with a focus on the messaging domain.
• Align GSK solutions with open and industry standards.
• Lead a team providing integration solutions on both ESB and BUIT endpoints.
• Provide break fix expertise to centrally provided integration components.
• Maintain the ESB messaging and adapter components to the correct level of validation and ensure they are scalable and in a supportable state.
• Work with BUIT Architects and Developers obtaining feedback and capturing requirements for future enhancements to core messaging components (including adapters).
• Liaise with software vendors (particularly IBM) to keep abreast of new functionality and versions.
• Liaise with BAGS (GXS) to keep both parties abreast of new functionality and versions.
• Develop, maintain and enhance educational material intended for Business Units and internal team.
• Act as coach\mentor to other Developers and Service Analysts at more junior levels.
Primary deliverables inlclude:
• Ownership for design, development and testing of core messaging components of the GSK ESB.
• Ownership for design, development and testing of integration adapters offered by the service. This includes adapters deployed on endpoints (BUIT systems) and adapters deployed centrally on the ESB.
• Identify and drive service improvements through technology minimising integration complexity and reducing implementation cycle times.
• Provide training and education materials to BUIT groups to enable a self service for design and build of solutions.
• Champion the use of the services provided by Middleware Services team.
• Provision of technical consulting and knowledge sharing to BUITs and Middleware Service team |
