'DEFINE CHANNEL' instruction has a REPLACE parameter (or maybe 'REPLACE DESCR') in the middle of the statement. Do you know what effect that has?

The Script goes like this:
DEFINE CHANNEL(ABC.TO.XYZDAQM) CHLTYPE(SDR) TRPTYPE(TCP) +
REPLACE DESCR('Sender Channel to XYZ') XMITQ(XYZDAQM) +
CONNAME('XYZDAQM.mgg.net(1414)')

What have you done to work this out for yourself? Read any manuals? Searched using Google?

If REPLACE is used, it replaces the current defintion (if one exists) or just creates the object if it doesnt.

If REPLACE is not present (or NOREPLACE is) the object will only be created if it does not exist already.
