I'm working with Sybase's EC Gateway and MQSeries v.5.2. to send files down to the POSIX layer of a HP3000 server. Once the C code on the POSIX layer retrieves the file from the MQSeries, I have it displaying the message header data: Message Type, Coorleation ID, etc. on the screen. For some reason the data I'm getting doesn't reflect that of which I setup the EC Gateway program to send. My goal is to be able to pass the unique sequential file name from EC Gateway and the MQServer down to the HP3000 to be processed and then include it within the Message Type on the PUT call for later renaming back inside EC Gateway. Does anyone know of sample program that I can run from within windows or at the DOS prompt that will put a file to a queue so I can test to see if it is indeed EC Gateway sending garbage in the message header data or if the MQSeries Client on the HP3000 is somehow jumbling the data? |

Have a look at the MQJExplorer tool
See http://www.mqseries.net/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=419
It has the following feature:
http://www.kolban.com/mqjexplorer/Help/advanced_put_message.htm
Which allows an arbitrary file to be put to the queue.
If that doesn't meet your needs, have a look at:

Kolban,
That's a nifty little program you created there. It solved my question and proved that Sybase's EC Gateway software uses a proprietary message header. Now, why on Earth they do that I have no idea but I guess it's time for a support call or I'm counting bytes. Thanks again.

Kolban,
Is MQJExplorer available again for download? DO you plan on keeping it around a while with regular updates? _________________ Peter Potkay

You betcha, MQJExplorer is now fully available with NO expiry. i.e. you download it, it will run forever. Updates planned as requirements and bug fixes arrive. You let me know what you want' I'll try and accomodate. |
