Hi there,
Since i highlighted my problem in a thread, i thought might as well create a specific one.
I've deployed and clustered WMB 6.0 on HACMP AIX 5.3 with DB2 9.5.
I've created a QM each for CM, UNS and Broker.
I've also created channels to connect the QMs of each component.
However when I tried to deploy a BAR file, it can't seemed to detect the Broker in the CM repository.
Is there something I'm missing here? |

Check the channels are running between the cfgmgr and the broker (and back) and that there is nothing on the xmitq's. Also check the DLQ for clues. I trust you've added the broker to the cfgmgr domain ok. |

The channels are running definitely. But i don't understand what you mean by "nothing on the xmitq"

This i didn't check... checking this is via runmqsc??

I was asking you to check there were no messages still sitting on the transmit queue between the cfgmgr QM and the broker QM (and back).

Sure, or MQExplorer - see if theres any messages on there and if so the Dead Letter Header may provide clues here.

Broker will be visible in the toolkit "Broker Administration" view under the config manager showing any previously deployed EGs and flows. Also check the cfgmgr event log for signs of any failures. |

How are you developing your flows? Could you use this instance of the toolkit to connect to the Cfgmgr? |

The development of the flows are done at desktop level which is may or may not be linked to the servers.
In the event of no linkage, deployment of the flows will be done by the administrators via mqsideploy command.
Thus I'm hitting this errors when trying to deploy the flows.
I did some research and found maybe the broker wasn't created properly. One way to check is to use Configuration Manager Proxy API and another way is the easy option of recreating the broker and broker database.
Hmmm I wonder if that is correct... |

... did you ever run "mqsicreatebroker"? You didn't specify if you did or did not.
... did you ever run "mqsicreateconfigmgr"? You didn't specify if you did or did not.
... did you ever "mqsistart" either the Broker or the ConfigMgr? ... You didn't specify....
... did you ever "create the broker" on the configmgr? You didn't specify...
Did all of these steps - that you failed to specify if you completed or not - complete successfully? You didn't specify.
You seem to be taking extra steps to post your own text in "blue". Why do you think this adds value? |

Hi Jeff,

Yes I did have run "mqsicreatebroker" command successfully without any problems

Yes I also did have run "mqsicreateconfigmgr" command successfully without any problems
mqjeff wrote: |

The Broker and ConfigMgr is now on HACMP cluster control. Thus I do not run "mqsistart" command

This I might need some advice as to how you guys do it? I tot just running "mqsicreatebroker" is considered as creating the broker on configmgr.

Have you done that ever so critical step of defining the Broker in the ConfigMgr environment?
This is usually done using the Administration Perspective of the toolkit.
Have you then created the execution groups you are trying to deploy to?
Just because the Broker/ConfigMgr/UNS are under HACMP control does not preclude these steps from having to be done?

Every time you reinvent the wheel the more square it gets (anon). If in doubt think and investigate before you ask silly questions. |

Go back to the infocenter. The step is described there. You may use either the toolkit or the configmgr API exerciser. Have fun _________________ MQ & Broker admin |
