We are US based and we have a server in the UK (on which the time is also set to EDT).
The application folks in the UK are now complaining that because of this weekends Daylight Savings time changes in the UK, the MQ time is now one hour behind the actual time.
They sent me a copy of a message with a Windows Server timestamp in the beginning of the message (the correct time) and the MQMD.PutDateTime timestamp (one hour behind).
Can someone tell me where MQ gets the time to populate the MQMD.PutDateTime field? I thought it would come from the app doing the MQPUT (which in this case is the Windows box). _________________ Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man. - The Dude |

As usual, as soon as I post, I find the answer.
From the PutDate and PutTime pages of the Application Programming Guide:
Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) is used for the PutDate and PutTime fields, subject to the system clock being set accurately to GMT.
Sounds like a server problem on their end. _________________ Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man. - The Dude |

The app could set the MQMD's Put Date and Put time too, if its using the correct options. In that case the server time may be correct, but an old Java version maybe causing the app to come up with the wrong GMT.
Should be easy enough to see if the sending server's system clock is correct though. _________________ Peter Potkay
