I was wondering how efficient the workflow server would be with 2 systems at geographically different locations, with runtime database at one of the 2 locations. I understand there will be linear increase in performance for each system added to the server but what about the communication costs, wont there be a lot of messages floating between the two systems and eventually utilizing all the network bandwidth and n/w becoming a bottleneck.
Any information on this regard would be very helpfull. If anybody has any performance benchmark results with such a scenario, it would be very helpful.
I finally found out that MQ cluster workload management algorithm selects the local QM as destination whenever possible. If there is no instance of the queue on the local Qm only then will it try to route to any other QM hosting the queue in the network.
So part of my question is solved. I would appriciate if anybody else has any info on this.
