Hi,
I need some clarification on setmqaut.

1. I am trying to use the alladm permissions eliminated for a particular queue ie esp dlt, from the information i assuem that the particular id will not be able to delete the queue , am i right? But when i try to delete it i am able to do it. How come? What am i missing here?
2. Are all these for the MQSC command format or also for PCF?
3. I am trying this in Tandem as well as on Windows. On Windows , i am able to display the autorities for q but when i set it , i dont see any changes, why?

I appreciate any clarification.

Answer to all your questions is that if you are using a userid that is within the "mqm" group to perform all these tasks, then it is NOT POSSIBLE. Since you cannot revoke permissions for a user within the "mqm" group.
But if your user is NOT in the "mqm" group, then it should work the way you expect it to.

Cheers.

"mqm" is not a user. It is a group. And hence what i was looking for is, if the "user" you were using was in the "mqm" group. Go to admin tools in prog files and then to computer management->users. Double click on the user you were using for this testing purposes, and check to see if it was a member of "mqm" group. If it is, then you CANNOT use setmqaut against it, you can, but it wont change anythin.

Cheers.

Hi:
In my installation (for Tandem) don't work with OAM. We use SAFEGUARD. It's better.
If you don't have SAFEGUARD, can use the GUARDIAN attrs.
With the DSPMQFLS MQ control command, displays the name of the que file.
Sorry for my bad english.
Regards.

Hi,
Thanks for your postings. The things is i am trying set OAM in Tandem as well as in WIndows. On Tandem, i have a userid which belongs to a different group and not a member of mqm group. I am able to restriction over put, get, browse, connect (allmqi) options for that particular id which is a non member of mqm group, it is successful. But my concern is i wanted to restrict that particular userid not to delete the Queue, that particular restriction is not working, where i am able to delete the queue using that userid, which i am trying to restrict from.
Another issue is can the userid be able to do anything with pathcom GUI for MQSeries on Tandem. I am concerned for delete or change using the GUI interface. So how should i have to do the setting not able to access the queue info or delete the queues , but only can do a stop/start on a channel.
Please help me out by post your suggestions about why i am not able to do so? If you have any ways for me find out , please letme know.

Hi Kavitha:
Do you need a RC2035 for the DELETE QL and a RC0 for a STA/STOP CHL for this user, (by the RUNMQSC & MQMC pathway program?
I can do a probe with a new idea, but i need a pair of days.
I will follow.
Regards.

Hi LuisFer,
Thank you for your support. I appreciate your efforts for me. Please send me if you can. I just want the user to see only the status of the channel, start/stop channel, and to see the queue depth thats all. For this purpose they want the GUI interface, but i am worried for they changing or deleting the queue for some reason or spying around. I appreciate if you could come up with some way or suggestion which i could handle this.
I can wait, i just need the way to handle my situation.
