Hi ,
I have two process which communicate using a Local Queue. One process is Java and other in C++. I am planning to use bindings mode,FAST BINDING and non persistant queues. Both the process run on single solaris machine. Dose any body has any idea about how slow is this as compared to other methods like JNI , socket , file or any other Interprocess communication mechanisum. Will it be more faster if I have both the process in C++. Do we have any IBM manual which explains what is underline mechanisum for the FAST Binding MQ put and MQ get in Java ? |

In this case, you can't even compare it to JNI, socket calls, etc., because you aren't even going over a network. You will find that local queue operations are very, very fast. C++ of course is going to be somewhat faster than Java (less than an order of magnitude however) but since you are dealing with a local queue the difference will be negligible. I've done quite a bit of testing comparing the speed of various MQ operations under C, Java, and Perl. Expect to do several thousand GETs per second from a local queue. PUTs are slightly slower. Again, this only applies to local queues.

| Thanks , Do we have any ref of IBM Manuel that gives performance test results. Or IBM manuel that gives what exact mechinisum is used for intercommunication. |
