I have WMB 6.0, DB 8.2, MQ v6 on my Windows PC (XP) and it was all working fine until....after an inadvertant power off and I have since been getting strange code-page related issues.
First I could not connect the broker database through DB2 ODBC as it complained about conversion from code page 1257 (??). I set the DB2CODEPAGE registry value to 1252 (UK) and that cleared that issue.
However I still cannot work with the mqsi commands, when I issue mqsilist I get
Quote: |
C:\Program Files\IBM\MQSI\6.0>mqsilist
BIP8081 An exception was caught while processing the response message for the command, 'Unable to format an ImbException message for output, ImbException message number is BIP2130'. |
Any ideas? |

Well BIP2130 is a conversion error, presumably when interpreting the message generated by the command. So a first port of call has to be to check the CCSID the queue manager's using.
I'd theorise it can't format the error because it's trying to format it in Mongolian / Simplified Chinese / Martian but that's just a theory. Why a power off would cause this is a interesting question..... _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

I've found it, my Windows Unicode default CP was set to Estonian! Not sure how that happened!
Talk about unhelpful WMB error messages though! At least the DB2 ones provided some sort of clue. |

On the plus side, they were indicating "what language is this I'm speaking?".
Not much of a plus I do admit. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.
