According to IBM manual:

Any SSL encryption defined for a connection is performed after the send exit has been invoked. Similarly, decryption is performed before the receive or security exits are invoked.

Based on my understanding after the send exit is invoked the encryption is performed. But why is it that the decryption is performed before the receive or security exits are invoked?.

Because if the message was still encrypted, how could either of the other exit types perform processing based on content?
