i have a key store on 5.3 n would like to convert it to a key db using the migration steps. i would like to understand whether i require the passwords of the key store and the personal certificate assigned to it?

Since v6, MQ don't use the Windows certificate store, luckily (it's my personal opinion). The key database was always protected by a password but it is a built-in function in the Windows.
