Hi Guys,
We are using MB V.6.0. We wanted to try out something as below.

We are getting the message from mainframe and is validated via a messageset(copybook). For a particular field in the messageset, we are declaring it as a string and we want to throw error when there are some characters, lets say... A-D(A, B, C & D).

To achieve this, I have used value constraint field and set this field by clicking 'Add' button. I added this value [^A-D^]. I know how to handle special characters and I am not sure how to throw exception for some characters(not special chars) and also for numerics when we use the datatype of 'string'.

Could any one suggest me in this regard?.

I appreciate it.

Thanks.

The regular expression '[^ABCD]*' (or '[^A-D]*') will match any string that doesn't contain characters 'A' through 'D'.
