I am seeing the following error in my /var/mqm/qmgrs/xxxx/errors file.
AMQ6174: The dynamically loadable shared library '/var/mqm/exits64//MQSTR' was
not found. The system returned error number '2' and error message 'No such file
or directory'. The queue manager will continue without this module.
EXPLANATION:
This message applies to UNIX systems. The shared library
'/var/mqm/exits64//MQSTR' was not found.
ACTION:
Check that the file exists, and is either fully qualified or is in the
appropriate director, also check the file access permissions.
The messages are ending up in SYSTEM.DEAD.LETTER.QUEUE. I checked the directory /var/mqm/exits64 and there is no file in this directory.
These messages are being sent from our message broker (Sun Solaris) queue manager to a mainframe queue manager. In the sender channel the conversion is set to yes.
Can anybody tell me where to get the MQSTR?
Thanks |

someone has set the MQMD.Format field to the wrong value.
They have set it to "MQSTR" rather than "MQSTRbbbb" where the "b" are "space".
They should instead have set it to the constant MQFMT_STRING. |

i think this means that a conversion has been requested which does not exist, either because the fileset for the conversion is not on the machine, as may be the case on AIX where 819 -> 1208 and bos.iconv.ucs is not loaded, or because it is an impossible conversion, for example 932 (Japanese) -> 819 (English. |

You could try removing the extra '/' at then end of your /var/mqm/qmgrs/<yourQmgr>/qm.ini exit stanzas.
The // is suppose to work, but it is also wrong to have the / at the end of the exit stanzas.
Note that MQ put it there when you created your QMGR. |
