Hi I have a requirement in WMB 6. 1 project:
- To log the MQ errors in the log file .
- Monitor the queues and log the same .
WMB project flow is as below:
(1)Input Queue (XML Message)-----> (2) Process the Message using Compute Node -----------> (3)Log the error in log file if any using Trace Node ------> (4)Send reply(XMl Message) Back to Out put queue.
There was a case in past where the file was send thru MQ, however WMB application did not receive it. Following can be the reason for it:
- It may be that due to some MQ series issue , message was not reached to the queue.
- It may also be possible that the
- receiver channel was down or
- queue was down or
- sender channel was down at the time of file sending.
Can such errors/issues be logged into WMB application log file and also the log file should have monitoring information related to MQ object which WMB - FRP2 application is using ? |

IMHO you're mixing 2 things here. The broker is (in concept) an application using WMQ to achieve it's ends. It should rely on WMQ being available and working normally in the same way any application should. So if any of the situations you mention (e.g. channel down) occur this should be picked up by whatever's monitoring the WMQ infrastructure not by the application using it. This is a key plank of WMQ's "assured delivery" concept; the application can be assured a message accepted for delivery will be delivered without further checking by the application.
To answer your question there's no easy way for WMQ errors to be logged in the WMB log because they're 2 separate products! I commend you instead to the "Monitoring MQ" manual, which contains detailed information on how to detect the problems you mention.
I also commend you to the monitoring section of this forum, which contains much useful discussion on the subject, and discussion of the commercial tools which will provide this for you. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

WMB is Turing Complete. Anything that you can do with any Turing machine, it is possible to do in WMB.
Whether something is a good idea or not, is a different question. |
