Folks , sorry to ask such a question, but on Message broker how do I change the queue manager name. When we did the installation of the broker ,we set the queue manager to be QM1. Now we are deleting QM1 and creating QM2 , what do I need to change on the broker to reflect the change and how do I change it? I am running this on an AIX system.

Thanks

Not a good idea.

To move the broker from QM1 to QM2, you will have to delete the broker and then recreate it specifying QM2 instead of QM1.
When you create a broker all sorts of things are done 'under the hood'. It is highly unlikely that you would be able to replicate that.
Even if you did, I would guess that you would be totaly unsuported.

Thanks smdavies,
then what would be the order ? delete the broker first then do the queue manager ? I don't have any flows or queues created yet.

If you delete the queue manager, then mqsideletebroker won't complete successfully.

So you can do them in either order, but one order won't work...

What I normally do is via the hierarchical nature from Broker -> Broker Queue Manager -> User Name Server -> UNS Queue Manager -> Configuration Manager -> Config Mgr Queue Manager -> Database Instance.

I normally remove the database instance last as many application data is stored there and removal of other components need to reference the data before removal.
