Websphere Message Broker designer / developer vacancies x 2

As an operating unit of TNT Express, we at ICS (Information and Communication Services) have the vision to ‘become one of the most successful organisations delivering global Information Technology Systems and Services’. ICS design, develop and enhance business application systems using a variety of technologies to meet the evolving needs of our customers and support their global infrastructure.
The Systems Integration Team is responsible for application to application (A2A) integration; a key part of TNT’s Service Oriented Architecture. The team also has responsibility for business to business (B2B) integration.
An opportunity for both a Systems Integrator and a Senior Systems Integrator has arisen within the Systems Integration Team. The successful applicants will report directly to one of the System Integration Team Leaders.
The successful applicants will be responsible for working closely with other team members, project teams and Technical Architects, and will design, build and implement middleware solutions. The role will involve design, development, testing, quality assurance, implementation and systems support.
Roles & Responsibilities
• To investigate and recommend the most appropriate middleware solution for any given project based on a wide range of specialist tools available to the company.
• Translation of middleware requirements into physical designs taking account of target environment, performance requirements and existing systems.
• Design, construction, unit testing and QA of Websphere Message Broker (WBIMB) and iWay message flows.
• Construction, interpretation and execution of middleware and system test plans.
• Problem determination and root cause analysis of middleware problems.
• Provide advice and guidance on technical matters to own team members and all other teams developing integration solutions.
• Promote integration best practice throughout the organisation.
• Take technical responsibility for several stages of the life cycle for development of simple and moderately complex middleware solutions.
Skills Required
• We are looking for an individual of graduate calibre with 1-3 years experience in the field of Systems Integration using MQ and Message Broker
• Sound appreciation of integration concepts
• Excellent communication and team working skills.
• Experience of MQ and Websphere Message Broker is essential, no applicants will be considered without experience of flow development (rather than administration)
• IBM Certified Solution Designer Websphere MQ V6.0 and/or IBM Certified Solution Developer – Websphere Message Broker V6.0 is desirable.
• Any knowledge of iWay or FTP would be an advantage. Training will be provided where necessary.
• Commitment to continuous improvement.
Terms and Conditions
The position will be based in Atherstone and is available on a full time basis. Normal core working hours will be Monday to Friday between 08:30 and 17:00. Overtime may be required depending on project demands. The role will involve on call duty. Occasional international travel may be required.
