Hi
I have just installed a unix broker to run on an NT config manager.I have been able to assign a simple message flow to it but on deploying I get no response(it just hangs on deployment) I have checked the database entries and the Cbroker table shows it as deploying. I have tried deleting database entries and redeployig but it still hangs with no error but disallows subsequent deploys. What am I missing??? channels are up and running, services are up, Queue manager are running.

Try an mqsilist <brokername> and mqsilist <brokername> -e <exec grp name> to see whether the broker has received the deploy message.

You say the channels are running but if the above looks good then maybe the reply message is sitting on an xmitq on the way back to the configmgr.
Check the other xmitq too.

Are there any eventvwr or syslog errors?

I Get The folowing :

[mqsidev]/opt/mqsi>mqsilist LMD1UMQI_BRKR -e default
BIP8029E: The broker's configuration is not yet deployed.
This command results in an internal configuration message to the broker, this message may only be sent after at least one deployment to the broker from the Control Center.
Reissue the command after the broker's configuration has been deployed.

The xmit queues are empty and there are no errors being logged in the eventviewer or CC log

Lillian,

Its not recommended to delete the broker from the database. You should follow the broker deletion procedure as stated in IBM manuals.

If you continue facing the problem try creating broker with different name.

Do you get any message in syslog ? I have my syslog located at /var/adm/user.log

Thanks, Uday

I created a broker with a different name and it works.

Lillian,
For the sake of sanity ...post a message from Config QMgr to Broker QMgr & also other way. See whether communications are happening or not ......

best of luck
