Is there a quick and clean way of exporting the queue manager list from one machine to another?
The list I am talking about is the list of 'added' queue managers on MQ Explorer when you first start up the Window. I want to be able to :
a/ Backup the list in case of a hard disk failure requiring a rebuild.
and
b/ Be able to roll out the full list to others who may need it.
All without the need to manually re-enter the same data over and over.
Note: I do not want to backup the queue manager objects, just the connection information.
I have scoured the help info but can't find anything relevant (or I have simply just missed it).
If there is no such facility then I guess the next question is....where is this information saved so I can at least back that up. |

There's an XML file (WMQ_Handles.xml) that holds this information.
I'm not aware of any supported method of exporting the information via the GUI or otherwise, and would be interested to learn of one. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

1) Right click on the IBM WebSphere MQ node at the top of the tree.
2) Select "Export MQ Explorer Settings..."
3) Ensure the "Connection Information" check box is ticked
4) use Browse button to pick file.

My days of grubbing round in file systems are over!

Or use MO71 and just distribute the .ini file... _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |

I've been a middleware consultant for somewhat more that 10 years now. This means:
a) I have no shame. No conscience. No morals.
b) I can just about remember this morning. Yesterday is a fading dream. Last November is something I read about. On a good day.
Who are you people? What is this place? _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

You forgot 'sold to the highest bidder'...although I suppose that could be covered by '...No morals...' _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |

Never sold, just leased by the hour or the day. I always get me back. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.
