Hi All,

We are supposed communiate to a legacy system which supports only tcp ip protocol. I am planning to use WMB 6.1.0.3 tcp/ip nodes. I want to know if there are some serious diadvantages in using tcp/ip nodes that of using a MQ adapter.

To get a feel in tcp/ip nodes, I tried to simulate a tcp/ip server which takes a string as input and converts into uppercase for output. So I tried to pass the string through client output node by giving DataLocation = $Environment/Variable/Test, however instead of a simple string a tree structure is going to the server which results in an exception (in server). But if I simulate a server using MB Server input nodes(they are obviously able to parse the message) it is working fine.

Please let me know the issues of using tcp/ip nodes and the risks. Also suggest if there are any better options.

- Thanks,
HSV

I raised a point about these nodes at the back end of last year.

Configuring TCPIP nodes for performance

I didn't get any response (so far) so I'm sorta guessing that not many people are using them yet.
They do work but as I mentioned in my entry, there are some issues when you start loading them unless I have configured them wrong.
I need to do a lot more investigation but so far I have not had the time spare to delve further into these nodes.

Every time you reinvent the wheel the more square it gets (anon). If in doubt think and investigate before you ask silly questions.
