I have the task of cleaning up someone else's botched MQ 6.0.2.1 install on RedHat Linux.
I have already been through bypassing the amqiclen check which was stopping my uninstalls with shmem issues that were bgus.
I am now down to the following:

MQSeriesJava-6.0.0-0
MQSeriesMan-6.0.0-0
MQSeriesSamples-6.0.0-0 |
The problem is, when I attempt to remove these I get errors saying there are fixpacks installed, when there aren't any as per the command above:

Is there any way I can bypass this check as well, or another way to clean up the package manager database?

The 2nd question might be better asked in a Linux forum, but I'm sure some passing IBMer will know the answer to the first (you know who you are.... )

Sorted it, well ......fudged it!
Moved /opt/mqm out of the way
re-ran the rpm -ev on the packages and got an error saying a QM was still running - which of course it wasn't.
moved /var/mqm out of the way and re-ran the rpm -ev, this time it all worked a treat.
Successfully removed all the packages, and re-installed from scratch.
This time hopefully it's not botched, so it seems to be working, at least it's reporting the correct version now! |
