Hi
I am using WMQ 6.0, DB2 9.1 and WMB 6.1 on AIX 5.3
I have already created the Configuration Manager. I have a few questions before i create the Broker.

The Broker Database (DB2) is remote to the machine where my broker will reside. I have cataloged the database. The alias name is BRKRDB. I was able to connect to the remote database using the Database Alias i created. The user id i used belongs to the db2admin, db2fence and dasadmin's group in the remote machine.

I have created the odbc64.ini file reflecting the DSN. Here is the content of my odbc64.ini file

#######################################
#### List of data sources stanza ######
#######################################

[ODBC Data Sources]
BRKRDB=IBM DB2 ODBC Driver

##########################################################
########## Individual data source stanzas ################
##########################################################
# DB2 stanza
[BRKRDB]
DRIVER=libdb2Wrapper64.so
Description=DB2DB DB2 ODBC Database
Database=BRKRDB

##########################################
###### Mandatory information stanza ######
##########################################

[ODBC]
# To turn on ODBC trace set Trace=1
Trace=0
TraceFile=/tmp/odbctrace64.out
TraceDll=/opt/mqsi/6.1/ODBC64/V5.3/lib/odbctrac.so
InstallDir=/opt/mqsi/6.1/ODBC64/V5.3
UseCursorLib=0
IANAAppCodePage=4
UNICODE=UTF-8

I will use the configuration queue manager for my broker too.
At this point, i want to go ahead and create my broker. am i missing anything?
Request your suggestion pls

Thank You

Hi, it looks fine so far to me, did you really wait before running the mqsicreatebroker command?

I personally haven't used a remote database, I am assuming that the instance is 64bit, but I have also been told that you can connect to 32bit instances in any case if the DB is remote...I am also assuming you have followed the steps in the 6.1.0.3 information centre with respect to configuring your broker domain...so go for it

Don't forget to set the variable LIBPATH in the mqsiprofile with the path of the db2 libs... see the information center for more detail.
Good luck!
