Hello,
I'm developing one application using IBM-MQSeries version 5.2 at the server side and MQSeries for Java at the client side. My client needs to know the names of the queues on his queuemanager.
How can I get a list of all queue names present on a particular queuemanager using the Java code??
Can anybody help me out??

Couldn't you put a PCF message onto the qmgrs SYSTEM.ADMIN.COMMAND.QUEUE to inquire about all queues, this can be further refined by type?

One message should come back per defined queue.

Take a look at the MQSeries Programmable System Management guide.

I've never done this type of thing with Java though - don't see why it should be different!

There have been quite a few discussions on this subject in the past. Please use the search tool on this site to find them. You'll get some pretty good explanations of how to do this.

Hi,

Go get SupportPac "MS0B.zip" from IBM's MQ SupportPac page at
http://www-4.ibm.com/software/ts/mqseries/txppacs/txpm1.html
you will find both documentation and code samples for programming PCF via Java (with several list of queues examples).

Right now Xephon has an article and Java / PCF samples at their web site for free. Go to the following web site and download the September 1999 article and code:
http://www.xephon.com/journals/more/MQ

Note: To new MQ users, the search button on this web page (top-right corner) works very well.

later
Roger...
