Spanish accent Characters

I am in Mexico working for a client using mq 5.2.1 & WMQI 2.1, the developers are sending XML to my WMQI broker, some of the data between the tags contains the special accent characters that are used when working with the Mexican language. THe only problem is, WMQI is converting all the accents to a '.' . How or what do I need to change for WMQI to output the accented words between that tags as they originally came in?

I don't know WMQI, but a message with accents is not XML. Any non-plain ASCII character has to be escaped with unicode (&#code;).

Example: in XML, I store my name "MarÃ©chal" as "Maréchal"

Am I in or out of subject?
