Hy everyone!
I'm trying to install MQ 7.0 on a Windows Server 2003 R2 x64 SP2.
I go through all steps of installation and when i click install it hangs for a while and then quits with error:
Installation wizard interrupted
The wizard was interrupted before installation could be completed.
All i can do is to click Finish and it quits installation.
This server had MQ 6.0 installed, but i didn't do upgrade. I uninstalled it, along with Eclipse and started all over with version 7.0
Funny thing is, that i did the same thing on another (test) server last week and everything went smootlhy. Both servers are on the same platform and both have Websphere applications server installed on them.
Only difference is that this new one is on VMware infrastructure, but i don't think this could be the problem.
I read somewhere that the problem could be the user under which MQ is installed. the article said it should explicitly be user administrator, not the user that is a member of administrators group.
If this is true, i have a problem, because we have a domain policy which automatically renames administrator account after joining to domain.
I'm really stuck here now, so any help would be appreciated.
Best,
Vedran |

You could always try and install under a local admin (not domain admin) and then use the wizard to prepare the qmgr to run under the domain admin account.... after the installation completed...
Hope this helps. _________________ MQ & Broker admin |

I did try to install it under local admin. It is only that this local admin account gets renamed after joining server to a domain. So the difference is only that it is not called administrator when i'm installing it.
But the same situation was on test server and everything went fine. |

Shouldn't make a difference; the document is pointing out that the user should be the administrator, not just an administrator. And I never adhere to that anyway & define an administrative user called "mqm" and install under that.

It says the same thing as the installation wizard does. Nothing "smart", i'm afraid... |

If he has trouble installing I'd say the difference is a little bit more.
I would expect that the automatic policy also strips some rights and that he has not ALL the rights the administrator would have... _________________ MQ & Broker admin |

Hm, fair enough... but... everthing that domain policy does is: built-in account called "administrator" gets renamed to "new_username".
Still, i don't think that is the problem, because i have the same policy on a test server, on which i had no problems during installation. |

Have you tried installing with the IN_USE flag (check the doc for exact syntax) set to yes? Note you will have to reboot after the installation. _________________ MQ & Broker admin |

Hi!
We solved a problem.
We didn't know what else to try, so we tried with another installation directory.
Default is: C:\Program files\IBM\WebsphereMQ. During wizard we changed it to C:\Program files\WebsphereMQ and now it works.
Weird, but it worked |
