MQ 6.0.2.5
Windows 2003

The contents of DLQ_IN.txt are:
Quote:
INPUTQM(HIGIDGL1) INPUTQ(SYSTEM.DEAD.LETTER.QUEUE)
REASON(MQRC_Q_FULL) ACTION(RETRY) RETRY(5)

Code:
D:\>runmqdlq <DLQ_IN.txt

parse error on line 2
...2008-12-01   13.34.36 AMQ8758: 1 errors detected in input to runmqdlq.
2008-12-01   13.34.36 AMQ8709: Dead-letter queue handler ending.

D:\>

What the heck is this thing complaining about on line 2? I'm using this as a guide:
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/wmqv6/v6r0/topic/com.ibm.mq.amqzag.doc/fa14100_.htm

My DLQ has some messages that went there due to the app q filling and I want to replay them.

Peter,

Did you include a carriage return after the last line? I ask because I just dug out an old rules file I created years ago, and it contains:

Quote:
! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! W A R N I N G ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
*
* IF CONTROL DATA ENTRY IS TO BE INCLUDED IN THE RULES TABLE, IT MUST
*
* BE THE FIRST ENTRY IN THE TABLE
*
* SYNTAX ERRORS WILL OCCUR IF THE LAST RULE IN THE RULE TABLE IS !NOT!
*
* TERMINATED WITH A CARRIAGE/LINE RETURN.
*
* ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! W A R N I N G ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

Also, I have this on the INPUTQM line: RETRYINT(1) WAIT(NO)

I've never really used the DLQ handler so I gave it a try with Peter's config and got the same error as he did. Once I added the carriage return it worked.

Thanks exerk.

Yup, that was it. And there is no mention of that in the Info Center. I submitted feedback asking that this info be included.

Maybe the request should be to remove the requirement in the first place?

[Edit]

Although I do accept that if the requirement is there then, at the very least, it should be documented.
