Hi,
I am using ---rcdmqimg -m $QMGR -t all '*'--- command for recording media image of queue manager: $QMGR.
After this command execution i am executing the below perl script for cleaning the log files.
/export/home/mqm/scripts/cleanmqlogs.pl -u $QMGR $QMGR_TOP $QMGR_LOG.
the problem i am facing is most of the times the log files are not cleaning in the first couple of execution , but if we run the above two commands couple of times say 5 times then the log files are getting cleaned.
Can any one suggest me any script or any procedure for unlink the old log files.
Thanks in advance.

I can suggest you don't double post - it's considered rude!
You say you run "some perl script" - what Perl script? Written yourself or sourced from where? Is it a script from the IBM support pac? When the logs don't get deleted what error messages (if any) do you receive? How did you arrive at the "running 5 times thing"? What have you already done to debug the script? What makes you think the log files are "linked"? Linked to what?
An alternative procedure is to obtain the relevant log numbers from the queue manager and remove the files yourself _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

There is nothing wrong with the archive process having nothing to archive.
This is why your active logs expand and contract. If you ran the process every hour, you would not expect to have archivable data every hour would you?
Typically, as long as the rcdmqimg does not free an active file or a file needed for media recovery, there is nothing to archive. Beware of long running transactions.
Have fun _________________ MQ & Broker admin |

I am using the perl script provided by IBM support pac.
I am not seeing any error message when the log files don't get deleted.
Running multiple times the same script we could see change in number of log files , there is no limit as 5 times.
When the log file is getting cleaned i can see the message as UNLINK the log file name.
Thanks
