Hi All,
We have a Windows 2003 server and WebSphere MQ v6.0.2.4 on it.
We do not have the administrator username or password. However, we have admin rights for the server.
The problem is when MQ is installed, it is running in the name of the user who installed it rather than mqm.
If we see the error log of any of the queue manager, it displays the user name instead of mqm or MUSR_MQADMIN. This has resulted in more problems in automatic startup and registry permissions.
Could any one let me know how to install MQ in such a way that it runs on user MUSR_MQADMIN?
Thanks in advance,
Regards,
Vinay. |

From the manual...
If for any reason you need to reset the user account back to the default MUSR_MQADMIN account, use the following command: AMQMJPSE -r
Info Center button at the top... _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |

That option did not help me. It is asking me for a domain username and password. Even though an username has been created in the domain for MQ purpose, we do not know the password of that account.
Here below is a short excerpt of the log..
11/17/2008 10:48:50 - Process(5820.110) User(brad_mclan) Program(amqrmppa.exe)
AMQ9208: Error on receive from host xmnodsclus2 (163.244.234.42).
EXPLANATION:
An error occurred receiving data from xmnodsclus2 (163.244.234.42) over TCP/IP.
This may be due to a communications failure.
ACTION:
The return code from the TCP/IP (recv) call was 10054 (X'2746'). Record these
values and tell the systems administrator.
In the first line of the error, please observe that the user brad_mclan is showed. But in other servers, this is occupied by MUSR_MQADMIN.
Please help. |

Then you can use the installation wizard (Launchpad) to change the user under which the service will start.
Look into using a WizParm file, which can have the domain, username, and password 'encrypted' and distributed by your Domain Admins. _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |
