HI,

I have 2 QMGRs setup in a cluster (INVENTORY_CLUS).
Now I want to setup 2 brokers in INVENTORY_CLUS.
With this 2 brokers, 1 is master, another is secondary, eg. MASTER_BROKER and SECONDARY_BROKER

What need to be setup in 2 QMGRs and 2 brokers in the INVENTORY_CLUS? eg. RECV_CHANNEL and SEND_CHANNEL, LOCAL_QUEUE and REMOTE_QUEUE?
(Assumed default.control and stream.queue had been setup in broker).

Can application from outside INVENTORY_CLUS directly subscribe or publish to this 2 brokers?
Or that application outside the cluster need to send a publish/subscribe request to a QMGR (QMGR1) inside the cluster first, and then QMGR1 publish/subscribe to the master broker on behalf of the application?

In the INVENTORY_CLUS cluster, 2 brokers need to setup their own local stream queue and default control queue? or can this be setup as cluster control queue and a cluster stream queue and have the master broker advertise it to the secondary broker in a cluster?

Very appreciate for anyone's suggestion and help.

Hi,

I have read thru the manual in the pub/sub area, but it doesn't describe how to setup broker with QM. All it does is describe stuff like how an application directly pub/sub to a broker.

It is confused in that some place mentioned 1 broker with 1 QMGR as well.
But can't find an example for setting this scenario in detail.

How does a Broker interact with its QMGR?

Please correct my understanding of the following understanding:

To answer to myself, I think an publishing application send Topics to the QMGR of the broker. In this case, the topics sent to the Alias queue of the QMGR of the broker, the Alaias ref to the PUB_XMITQ of the QMGR of the broker. The PUB_XMITQ sents Topics to the stream queue of the broker.

For Subscriber application, the sub application sends subscriptoin request (with interested topics) to the Alias_SUB_Q of the same QMGR, Alias_SUB_Q refer to SUB_XMITQ of the QMGR, SUB_XMITQ sends subscription to the Control queue of the broker.

When topic is available in the broker, the Stream queue of the broker sends result to the SUB_Q of the QMGR. Subscriber application picks up result from the SUB_Q.

Your help is much appreciated.

Thanks

Conceptually pretty much right. search the support pack page for support pack IH03 (rfhutil/rfhutilc) and start experimenting...

The installation manuals should allow you see what you need to do to install / start the broker on the qmgr...
