Systems Architect – WebSphere / Tivoli / MQ
Individual will be accountable for providing systems architecture services relative to the infrastructure and performance of a J2EE / WebSphere / Oracle 10g application.
Core responsibilities will include:
• Evaluate existing architecture and code
• Propose ideas to create a more efficient environment
• Drive the proposals to successful conclusions
• Evaluate, recommend and/or help to implement new technology products
• Collaborate with enterprise architecture and data architecture teams
• Research configuration of WebSphere Application Server, Tivoli Access Manager and MQ Series to identify opportunities to enhance application performance
• Troubleshoot and resolve application issues in conjunction with other technology organization (ie, system administrators, network engineers, database administrators, software engineers, etc.)
• Identify root causes and resolve them to ensure that they do not recur
Candidates will possess:
• 5+ years of architecture experience in a large UNIX environment
• 5 + years of experience with J2EE applications
• 3 + years of WebSphere Application Server experience
• 2 + years of Tivoli Access Manager and MQ Series experience
• Experience with Spring, Struts and/or Hibernate
• Proven analytic abilities
• Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to drive issues to resolution
• Ability to collaborate with other technical teams in a matrixed setting
• Demonstrated experience researching and evaluating new technologies
• Consultative skills
• Excellent communication abilities – written and oral
• Relevant Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
