First post - please excuse any inadvertent protocol breaches!
I'm in the process of setting up a test environment with a product called the MSMQ-MQS Bridge. This is on one Windows 2000 domain, and our test MQSeries system is in another. When I tried to connect from the Bridge domain, I initially ran into problems viz. MQRC_NOT_AUTHORIZED
but managed to sort that thanks to this forum.
The status now, however, is that connection attempts are failing with message AMQ8079. This indicates that the userid which the MQ server runs under hasn't got permission to verify the credentials of the connecting user.
My problem is that I can't see how to give the MQserver user the necessary permissions to the other domain, seeing as how it is a local user (musr_mqadmin). Can I change this to be an arbitrary domain user, which I know can be given the required access? Is there any potential impact on the QManager ? Or, is this a dumb move in general, and I should be doing something completely different?
Thanks for your patience and understanding,
Glenn |

Answering my own question...
It doesn't seem to matter what userid you pick to run the MQserver application. Finding where this is specified was a bit fun, though. You need to use "dcomcnfg".

Hi Glenn,
You should be able to add the connecting users account from your NT domain to the local mqm group on your server running MQ.
